Van Gogh Exhibit: The Immersive Experience

Challenge

We had the privilege of launching the internationally acclaimed traveling art exhibit, Van Gogh – The Immersive Experience, in New York’s Capital Region. WAV Strategies was charged with developing and executing an earned media plan to promote robust consumer engagement and ticket sales.

Execution

Our “think global, act local” strategic approach centered around enlisting local businesses and influencers to become part of the immersive experience and propagate that experience throughout New York’s Capital Region via earned media and social engagement. Among numerous other earned media and social initiatives, we partnered with Frog Ally, the largest family-owned brewery in the area, to develop a Van Gogh branded beer which was sold during the exhibits showing.

Results

Our year-long earned media and social campaign exceeded global earned media coverage in other international markets including New York City, London, and Melbourne. The earned media campaign was sustained throughout the entire yearlong showing of the exhibit and helped exceed projected ticket sales by more than twenty-five percent.
